What We Do

Annual Waterbirds & Trophy Animal Census

Midwinter Water Birds Census has been initiated globally in 1972. The findings of these censuses have been documenting regularly since 1987 by Zoological Survey of Pakistan, MoCC & EC in compliance with Multilateral Environmental Agreements e.g.; CMS and Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

The conservation of waterbird species is very important, for this purpose ZSP, collected the primary data on their migratory pattern, population trends, status and distribution by assessing wetland values and identification of important sites for protection of threatened species annually.

In Compliance to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITIES), ZSP annually performed Trophy animal Census jointly with respective Provincial Wildlife Departments throughout the Pakistan.
